PARTY WITH A PURPOSE

Los Angeles Matchmaker Sherri Murphy from Elite Connections has a heart we should all embrace. Besides being responsible for hundreds of marriages, every year she personally makes sure that hundreds of children have a holiday to remember.

This year, Murphy and her husband Bill graciously hosted the affair at their home in Los Angeles. The invitation was called for black-tie. It was the 10th annual Party with a Purpose, a charity event to benefit the Children’s Institute. Murphy's goal each year is to give needy children throughout Los Angeles the best Christmas they've ever had, and this past holiday was no exception.

Over 200 guests attended the benefit, which raised over $7000. As a result, Murphy threw a party for children from newborn to 17 years of age just before Christmas. 

"I spent hours creating gift bags filled with clothes, games, jewelry, and more for the children," said Murphy. She added,  "Every child received a raffle ticket and those lucky ones had a very Merry Christmas with new iPODs, Gameboys, Digital Cameras, Skateboards, and more." Attendees dressed in style and danced along to the live band, Soulplay while enjoying the spectacular view of the city from her poolside deck.  Besides helping the children, Murphy has done her matchmaking magic at her holiday parties. Several marriages have occurred as a result of her annual Party With a Purpose events.
